How to Send “View Once” Photos and Videos on GB WhatsApp
GB WhatsApp faced a dire situation last year when it changed its privacy policy and gave users the choice to give their consent or leave the platform altogether. This caused millions of people to jump off the platform and forced GB WhatsApp to delay changes to its privacy policy.
The company now appears to be trying to regain user acclaim by introducing new features to GB WhatsApp. The latest version of GB WhatsApp has the ability to send disappearing photos and videos, which will be automatically deleted after being viewed once by the recipient.
This isn’t the first time Facebook has blatantly removed a Snapchat feature, and it doesn’t appear to be the last. Either way, many GB WhatsApp users are excited about this new feature, and here’s how you can make the most of it.
How to Send “View Once” Images and Videos
Here’s how:
Method #01: Send the photo or video you just clicked
Download and install a compatible version on your device, then navigate to the chat room where you want to send a “view once” photo or video on GB WhatsApp . Tap the “Camera” icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
Now click the photo by tapping the shutter button, if you want to record a video, hold the button. Once done, the media will be automatically saved and you will see the editing screen.
Click the “1” icon in the lower right corner. This will activate “View Once” for the current photo or video.
You can now swipe up to add filters to your photo, or use the options in the top right corner to edit your media or overlay it with elements.
When you’re done editing, tap the “Send” icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
That’s it! Clicked media, be it photos or videos, will now be sent to recipients in GB WhatsApp as “view once”.
Method #02: Send photos or videos from your gallery
Open GB WhatsApp and navigate to the relevant chat for which you wish to send a “view once” image or video. Make sure you have updated to the latest version of GB WhatsApp above to get this feature. Now click on the “Attachments” icon.
Click and select “Gallery”.

Now select the photo or video you want to send to the recipient. Click the “1” in the lower right corner to activate “View Once” for the current media.
Once activated, you can use the options in the upper right corner to edit and crop photos or videos. Click “Send” in the lower right corner when you’re done.
That’s it! The selected media will now be sent to recipients as “view once” media.
Things You Should Know About “View Once” Media
As with every new feature in GB WhatsApp , there are a few things and bugs you should keep in mind before you start using the “view once” feature for media files in GB WhatsApp .
Disabling “read receipts” and sending “view once” media will allow recipients to still see the media once, but not notify you when recipients open the media.
In groups, however, disabling read receipts has no effect, because any time a user opens “View Once” media, you will be notified regardless of the current read receipt status.
GB WhatsApp will not notify you when taking a screenshot. Using this feature, recipients can store your “view once” media files indefinitely. GB WhatsApp does not have a screenshot detection function, and there is no news whether it will be added in the future.
The feature can be viewed once regardless of the recipient’s version of GB WhatsApp,or whether they have this feature enabled or disabled.
